Tours

In 2008 the orchestra made a seven day tour to Padua, Verona and Venice with performances in Campodarsega, Fosse, Arre and Valdobiadenne. The programme was extremely challenging requiring significant rehearsal in Italy as two complete programmes were required. A special classical programme was prepared for the performance in the Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta, Arre that included Eoghan Cooke playing solo trumpet for the Andante from Haydn's Trumpet Concerto. It was a fantastic tour for all involved.

In October 2006, the Concert Orchestra hosted a return visit from the Rouen Pops Orchestra who gave three concerts, two in the O'Reilly Theatre, Belvedere College ant the third in Taney Parish Hall. The latter was a combined Halloween concert with appropriate seasonal dress and a very enjoyable joint party afterwards.

In March 2004 the Concert Orchestra travelled to Rouen in France where they gave three concerts as part of the Trans Europeennes Festival Cultural, de l’Agglo de Rouen, before travelling to Disneyland Paris for another concert and a day on the swings, and roundabouts, and water, and flying carpets, and ......

The Concert Orchestra opened the autumn 2003 season of concerts with their hugely popular “Teddy Bears” Concert in October 26th in the Draiocht Theatre in Blanchardstown. Two performances were given during the afternoon before highly enthusiastic young audiences.

The Orchestra travelled to Paris in March 2003 to share concerts with the Lycee Claude Monet and to play in the Irish Cultural Centre and Disneyland Paris. The tour was a huge musical and cultural triumph and the big question unanswered at the time was “will we go back next year”? The answer is "YES"!

On February 2nd 2002, the orchestra was part of the Irish Association of Youth Orchestras Festival in the National Concert Hall and on the 17th of April the orchestra performed with the Lycee Claude Monet Youth Orchestra from Paris.

The Concert Orchestra performed “Tubby the Tuba” with Conor O’Riordan, tuba, in the Jeunesses Musicales Ireland "Make Friends with Music" concert in the National Concert Hall on Sunday 4th March, 2001.
