Sunday 25th February 2018, 10am – 4.30pm
Sancta Maria College, Ballyroan, Dublin 16
The annual DYO Chamber Music Day is a popular event offering young musicians the opportunity to develop their chamber music skills in a fun and stimulating environment.
During the day, each chamber group will take part in three sessions with their own individual tutor, learning the essential techniques of chamber music. Groups will be formed and music chosen according to age and ability. We also invite musicians who have already formed their own chamber group to enrol together. Leading the groups will be our talented roster of DYO tutors, many of whom are familiar to veterans of Chamber Day and our Aravon summer courses.
Once again, we will be offering a special percussion workshop, designed to give non-orchestral musicians such as piano and guitar players the opportunity to experiment with percussion instruments.
Wind and Brass
A wind and brass workshop will offer players of those instruments the experience of playing as part of a smaller ensemble. An informal concert for parents starts at 3.30pm, allowing each group to perform the music they have worked on throughout the day.
Non-DYO members are very welcome.
Spaces are limited for this very popular annual event.
