Unfortunately we have had to cancel the DYO Chamber Music summer courses this year due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation.  We feel it would be impossible to run the courses within the social distancing limitations.  The safety of our players and staff is more important.

If you have already booked your place on the course you should have received an email with details of how to claim your refund.  Please contact courses@dyo.ie if you have not received this email.

The decision to cancel was not taken lightly as we know the courses are a highlight for many of our young players – and indeed our staff.  We hope you understand that it was unavoidable.  We will be back next summer and hope to see you and your children then.

The DYO Chamber Music Summer Courses are designed for young musicians (from age 9 to 18) with some experience in orchestra and chamber music and also for those who are completely new to ensemble playing.

String players at all levels will have the opportunity to explore a rich and varied repertoire of chamber and orchestral music. Each string quartet is coached by a dedicated expert tutor for the duration of the course.  Wind players have the opportunity to explore a full repertoire of classical, jazz, swing and blues music with an experienced wind tutor.  Our percussion course offers younger players the chance to get involved in music whilst joining in with all the summer camp fun!

The courses offers a unique blend of music-making and traditional summer camp fun activities, including swimming, rounders, uni-hoc, orienteering, football, tennis, drama and the annual talent show.

If you have any questions that are not answered within the flyer, please feel free to contact the summer courses administrator
