Intermediate Orchestra
The Intermediate Orchestra offers string, wind, brass and percussion players aged 11 to 15 their first opportunity to perform in a symphony-sized orchestra.
A varied programme of classical & pops repertoire.
The largest of our four orchestras, our 120 Intermediate Orchestra members work with their conductor Cillian O'Breacháin and a team of professional tutors on a varied programme of classical and popular repertoire each year. The Intermediate Orchestra performs at the DYO Annual Gala and a bi-annual national tour is a social and musical highlight of the Intermediate Orchestra’s calendar. They have recently traveled to Donegal for a very enjoyable rehearsal and performance weekend in collaboration with Donegal Youth Orchestra.
