Junior Strings
Young violinists, violists, cellists and double bassists aged between 9 and 12 begin their DYO journey in Junior Strings.
A fun and friendly atmosphere.
Our youngest DYO members are introduced to the concepts of playing and bowing as an ensemble, of listening to each other and of watching the conductor. They have plenty of opportunities to practise their new skills in a fun and friendly atmosphere. The 70 members of Junior Strings perform at the DYO Annual Gala Performance in January/February each year. Another highlight of their calendar includes a performance in a primary school followed by a fun-filled afternoon. Professional tutors support the group which is led by their conductor Orla Mulrey.
